Clancy Roberts brings a powerful and deeply practical combination of experience and expertise to the women’s self-defence course. As a clinical exercise physiologist and exercise scientist, Clancy blends academic rigour with elite-level performance training.

Clancy's background spans 12 years as a team leader and integrated combat centre instructor in the Australian special forces — delivering tactical training under extreme conditions. On top of that, he holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with 30 years of martial arts practice and competitive experience. This rare combination means he doesn’t just teach technique — he understands how real people move, respond under pressure and build confidence in physical skills that work.
The course is organised by Head of Marketing & Comms Allison Tomazin Parker who is passionate about women having the confidence to get out and explore the great outdoors. Co-hosted by Dave Parker, founder of PAST Outdoors, Dave brings nearly 20 years of special operations service in the Australian Army, an MBA, and real-world outdoor leadership experience. His track record in planning, strategy, and managing risk in harsh environments makes him a credible instructor for realistic self-defence scenarios.
