The swig rig setup with the 1.5L Nalgene plastic bottles is definitely the best water setup I’ve used for hiking. It’s robust durable and easy to use. The mouth piece requires a bit of negative pressure to pull water which required a hit of an adjustment, but this is the price you pay for no leaks. Highly recommend this product, rather than buying a new pouch once a year.
I ordered the filter without the swig mouth and was contacted by Kris to check if I'd ordered the correct item. She was very helpful and informative and delivery was prompt. The swig mouth combined with the filter is ideal for my hike as I don't like hydration bladders nor carrying 2-3 litres of water if I have access to fresh water while hiking. And the filter provides peace of mind against nasties.
The Spark Pro -1 was the perfect bag for a recent shoulder season trip to NZ where low temps were expected but the grams mattered
After tossing up between this and a quilt; I went for the sleeping bag as it was rated to lowered temps, lighter and there is no stuffing around with straps and clips and drafts. The free flow zip system worked a treat as I was able to sit up and do admin in the tent without getting cold.
Would absolutely recommend this over a quilt any day!
