La Sportiva
La Sportiva's story starts in 1928, when Narciso Delladio began handcrafting leather boots and wooden clogs for lumberjacks and farmers in Italy's Fassa and Fiemme valleys, right in the heart of the Dolomites. During World War II, he built custom mountaineering boots for Italian soldiers, and after the war, demand grew fast enough that his small workshop, "Calzoleria Sportiva," became the foundation of the brand we know today.
Nearly a century on, La Sportiva is still family-owned, with the fourth generation of the Delladio family now involved in the business, and still headquartered and manufacturing in Ziano di Fiemme, at the foot of the Dolomites. That heritage shows up in every hiking boot and hiking shoe they make, genuine mountain craftsmanship, not just a marketing story.
