The Margarita high sodium is an easy flavour, not too sweet, the energy chews are easy to get down, and the extra salt is definitely needed when a little bit of extra carbs are. Normally I prefer take in most of my energy for runs from a combination of higher starch or maltodextrin (non-sweet gels and wafers) with some in my electrolytes, and for big walks I prefer to have occasional muesli bars or salted nuts as primary (and actually find I seem to prefer doing most of the walk in a calorie deficit), but food rotation is really helpful for energy spikes in tough sections or late in the day, and to avoid flavour fatigue. The clif bloks would be a main go to for this in both walks and runs.
Fantastic hoodie. Works as a base layer or mid layer. Kept me warm when I was up in the Blue Mountains. The hood and neck buff helps keeps the head warm
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a kind review. Wilderness wear are a great Aussie made and owned merino and we are glad you love them too!
Bought this for hubby for his birthday, is a really good fit and the cut is just perfect on him. A great pressie at a great price!
Aussie Merino socks are second to none for all weather hiking and arduous outdoor activities. I’ve given these a caning and they’re good to go. Great service and price from the team at PAST outdoors.
Thanks Garth for your kind review and for supporting both PAST and Wilderness Wear.
These have been really handy for the carry size for quickly boiling some collected water on multi long day walks even in snowy conditions. I took the PAST 500ml titanium Billy (no plastic or fragile bits), 2 small butane canisters and 1 large canister, a soto self igniting burner and a few dry matches and a bit of kindling just in case. In future, I'd just take 2-3 small butane canisters (no large), possibly a 2nd billy, as the small canisters pack in the Billy with the burner or some dried food, and I might use toased coconut flakes for my emergency kindling (I can eat them for a lot of emergency calories if I don't need to light a full fire or kindling is easy to come by).
