One wet river crossing or one afternoon of rain is all it takes to soak a sleeping bag, a down jacket or a phone. A dry bag is the cheapest insurance you can put in a pack, and it's the difference between a damp night and a miserable one.

The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil dry bag is the go-to for hikers counting grams, available from 3L up to 35L and packing down to almost nothing when empty. It's also sold as a four-piece set, which is the easiest way to sort a pack into sleep gear, clothing, food and electronics without buying sizes one at a time. If you want to see what's inside without unrolling, the Lightweight Dry Bag View has a translucent panel; if you're on the water, the Big River range steps up to heavier fabric and welded seams built for rafting, kayaking and boat decks.

Every Sea to Summit dry bag in the collection uses a roll-top closure, so the seal is only as good as the technique — three firm rolls before you clip, and leave a little air inside if you want it to float.
