Wide Fit Hiking Boots | LOWA Wide Range | PAST Outdoors

If hiking boots usually pinch across the ball of your foot or squash your little toes, you probably need a wide fit, not a bigger size. Our wide fit hiking boots come from LOWA, which builds dedicated wide versions of its most popular models. They give you more room through the forefoot and a wider toe box, while still locking your heel in place. Every boot here has a GORE-TEX waterproof lining.

Do you need wide hiking boots?

Hiking boots for wide feet are worth trying if you notice any of these:

Pressure or numbness across the ball of your foot after a few kilometres
Rubbing on your little toe or the joint of your big toe
You go up a size to get enough width, and then your heel slips
Your feet swell a lot on long or hot days

Going up a size only adds length, so your heel lifts and you get blisters. Wide walking boots add room where you need it and keep the length right.

Our wide toe box hiking boots

Day hikes and overnighters: the LOWA Renegade GTX Mid Wide and Renegade EVO GTX Mid Wide are light, supportive all-rounders that are comfortable straight out of the box.
Multi-day walks with a heavier pack: the LOWA Ranger EVO GTX Wide and Ranger III GTX Wide are taller, stiffer leather boots for long days under load.
Rugged and alpine terrain: the LOWA Tibet Evo GTX Wide is our most supportive wide fit hiking boot, built for heavy packs and mountain walking.

Women's wide hiking boots

Our current wide fit range is men's sizing. If you're looking for women's wide hiking boots, get in touch and our team can talk you through your options, including whether a men's wide boot in a smaller size suits your foot. You can also browse our women's hiking boots.

Width is hard to judge online, so the best way to choose is to try boots on. Visit our Helensburgh store, between Sydney and Wollongong, or read our guide on how to fit hiking boots. Guided South Island Serenity (NZ)

Having been to New Zealand a couple of times, and namely the South ISland, I knew when I booked this trip I was in for something special. For me the journey and the gear prep to get to the trailhead is one of the most exciting bits. Thankfully I'd picked up some LOWA boots, Fjallraven trousers, and an Exped mat in the lead up to this trip. Knowing that the trip was guided by the very team that kitted me out wiuth my gear gave me confidence I'd be comfortable for a few days on the trails. The pokey trails rambling amongst tree roots, occasionaly crossing creeks and rivers then opening up into stunning grassy basins sitting below snow capped mountains, what more could you ask for. We got it all on this trip (except snowfall). Dave and Seth knew the countryside well and ensured an enjoyable hike for us all. Would I do it again? Of course, in a heartbeat.

Past Outdoors Snake Bite Kit

The kit is well setup for its purpose, nice and compact in its case. Hopefully I will never need to use it but comforting knowing it’s there if I need it.
