I bought these to carry in my hiking kit just in case (I generally am not hiking in tick areas). They weigh 5g when you remove the ring but keep the case and the tweezers (I tied yarn through the hole to keep them together). They are compact. They are sturdier than I expected from reviews elsewhere. The tips are stiff, line up well, and not sharp. The whole thing seems good for what I need it for. From what I read, ticks can be in awkward places (behind ears, in crevices) so curved tweezers seem better than flatter alternatives. These have a really nice curve. For high tick areas I'd bring the freezing spray which I gather is recommended as best practice for Australian ticks (but it weighs 45g or so and takes more space). But for just-in-case, these tweezers seem perfect.
