Having visited Past Outdoors for the first time, I was attended to by Dave the CEO. I provided Dave with what I required and why, regarding a reliable backpack. Dave actively listened and gave, in clear concise, logical and competent - knowledge, skills and experience - feedback what he thought would best suit my backpack needs. That resulted in my purchase of the well thought-out and constructed Exped Lightening 50L Backpack. The surprising bit for me was how well it could be adjusted to suit my body size and weight of contends carried. Another aspect was that a pack of this size can always be collapsed down prior to closing and carrying - that is, a larger backpack can be adjusted down to suit circumstances, in contrast to a smaller pack cannot be expanded out to carry more. The way the shoulder, spinal and pelvic/hip adjustments work together are easy and stay put. The top section rolls and folds to firmly and securely close down, to provide protection from the elements and any loss. The system of ties further enhance the packs ease of carrying and functional stability. The pack is light in weight and certainly does not feel burdensome when carried. It’s a fit for purpose and functional bit ok backpack kit. Cheers.
