Sea to Summit tests all of its sleeping bags according to the ISO 23537 standard. This test presupposes that a sleeper is

dressed in expedition-weight base layers
wearing an insulated cap
using a sleeping mat with an R-Value of 5+

The ISO test produces three temperature ratings, two of which Sea to Summit publishes as above in these specifications.

Sea to Summit publishes the temperature ratings provided by the ISO-certified lab - the figures are not rounded down or altered.
this rating is a guideline, not a guarantee

Factors that can affect performance include air humidity and how well the down is distributed in the baffles (the latter involves vigorously shaking the bag prior to use)

Other factors that affect performance is the physical condition of the sleeper, levels of hydration and fatique.

Sea To Summit Hamelin Synthetic Sleeping Bag (-9°C & -1°C)

The Hamelin is a performance-oriented synthetic sleeping bag designed for comfort. Built for the backcountry, it is at home in a range of climates and conditions – especially when things turn damp. The weight-efficient Contour shape offers room to move in any sleeping position, while Layers of Revive Loft are strategically placed to maximise insulation value.

The Free-Flow full length zipper with double sliders and short side zipper provide variability and customisable ventilation. Go hard but rest easy knowing that the fabrics and Revive Loft insulation are RCS-recycled and bluesign-APPROVED.

The Hamelin is one of STS's 1% for the Planet products.
