Wore these beauties on a recent hunting trip in Canterbury where temperatures were sitting in the single digits and multiple river crossings were unavoidable. After slogging through the water the day before, I threw these on in the morning and my feet stayed completely dry – total lifesaver.
They’re tough, well-made, and warm without feeling bulky. Even with cold air biting and wet boots from the day before, my feet were warm and comfy the whole time. If you’re heading out in wet, cold conditions, these socks are worth every cent.
Being able to keep your pack on you and still access water constantly, helps to keep you going for longer, while doing it safer, as you don't have to constantly drop your pack and put it back on again. This isn't an issue for light hiking, but when your packs 20kg plus at a minimum, any small wrong movement can lead to injuries when you're tired and frustrated. As an added bonus, when you're thirsty and not bothered looking for water around camp, just go to your pack for a quick and easy sip. Highly recommended and makes so much sense, I bought 2.
