Gear Review: SOTO Navigator Cookset

After testing out this sleeping bag on multiple trips, I can confidently say it’s a game-changer for lightweight camping. It strikes the perfect balance between warmth and portability, making it an excellent choice for hikers, campers, and anyone looking to cut down on pack weight without sacrificing comfort.

One of the standout features is how warm it is. Even in chilly conditions, it holds heat exceptionally well, keeping me toasty all night. The insulation is efficient without being bulky, which is a huge plus for ultralight camping.

Despite its warmth, this bag is impressively lightweight. It packs down small, making it easy to fit into my gear without adding unnecessary bulk.

Rather than using it traditionally, I’ve been unzipping it and laying it over me like a quilt. By slipping the bottom over my sleeping mat, I get the best of both worlds—warmth and flexibility. This setup allows for better temperature control, especially if it’s not freezing but still a bit cool at night.

My g1000s needed re-waterproofing and this was easy to use, a quick go over and finish with an iron! Simple

This is by far the best BC meal I have had. First time was on Hannels Spur in Kosciuszko and recently took another meal on the Routeburn track in NZ. ( ok to carry it from Au to NZ). It tastes like you have cooked it fresh from home. Thanks Dave from PAST for the recommendation.

Have been trying to get a pair of these for years but never able to get them in Australia. Nearly had them drop shipped from USA then found out they had them at PAST. Stoked to be able to support a local retailer. Oh and the sandals are everything I dreamed for. Solid and stable enough to hike in, fly fish warmer water. Perfect camping companion.

Super comfy shoes, and super grippy soles, been enjoying as the weather here turns quickly so something a little warmer than sandals is really nice. Lots of compliments on them too!
