Fjällräven Splitpack 35L Bag

The Fjällräven Splitpack solves a problem every duffel owner knows: everything ends up in one pile at the bottom. This one unzips fully down the middle into two equal compartments, each with its own zippered mesh cover.

Clean gear one side, worn or damp gear the other. It opens flat like a suitcase, so you can see everything without unpacking anything. Thirty-five litres suits a weekend away or gym kit.

Built from G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco — recycled polyester and organic cotton, water-resistant, made without PFAS — with a padded back panel and ventilated shoulder straps so it carries properly as a backpack. The main zip takes a padlock.

Worth knowing before you buy

Heavy for the volume. G-1000 canvas is durable, not light. This is a decades bag, not a grams bag.
No laptop compartment. Use a sleeve if you're carrying one.
Water-resistant only. Can be re-proofed with Greenland Wax.
Smallest of our three Splitpacks. Check the sizes below before ordering.

Which Splitpack?

Splitpack 35L — weekends, gym kit, short trips. $329.95

Vardag Splitpack 45 — 45L, carry-on sized, everyday styling. $304.90

Splitpack Large 55L — a week or more. $369.95

Yes, the Vardag 45 is larger and cheaper. It's a different construction and an everyday-travel design rather than the heavier-duty G-1000 HeavyDuty build. Call us if you want to talk it through.

Common questions

How much is it in Australia?

$329.95. We're an official Australian stockist, so that's genuine local stock with full warranty support.

How does the split design work?

A robust zip runs all the way around, opening the bag into two equal halves. Each has a zippered mesh cover, so clean and dirty gear stay apart and nothing shifts.

Can I wear it as a backpack?

Yes, and it's better at it than most duffels. Padded shoulder straps with ventilating mesh, plus a padded back panel so contents don't press into your back.

Is G-1000 waterproof?

Water-resistant. G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco sheds rain and can be re-proofed with Greenland Wax for more protection, but it isn't a dry bag.

Does it fit a laptop?

There's no dedicated laptop compartment. Use a padded sleeve inside one of the compartments.

Which Splitpack should I buy?

35L for weekends and gym kit, the Vardag 45 if you want carry-on size, and the Large 55L for a week or more.

Simple and Useful!

Simple but really useful. Easy to set up, keeps the fuel canister nice and stable, and packs away neatly without taking up much space. Definitely a handy little addition to my camping gear.

Patagonia torrentshell

Bought this as a city to bush raincoat and although it's only been used in a concrete-cowboy sense so far, it's comfortable, looks good and does the job. Thanks to the staff at PAST for their help!

Great gear

Great product and super quick shipping. Ordered on the public holiday Monday and had it by Wednesday. Perfect for hiking the Three Capes.

Nalgene Bottle Sleeve

Awesome addition to my bottle to protect and keep cooler!

Guided South Island Serenity (NZ)

Having been to New Zealand a couple of times, and namely the South ISland, I knew when I booked this trip I was in for something special. For me the journey and the gear prep to get to the trailhead is one of the most exciting bits. Thankfully I'd picked up some LOWA boots, Fjallraven trousers, and an Exped mat in the lead up to this trip. Knowing that the trip was guided by the very team that kitted me out wiuth my gear gave me confidence I'd be comfortable for a few days on the trails. The pokey trails rambling amongst tree roots, occasionaly crossing creeks and rivers then opening up into stunning grassy basins sitting below snow capped mountains, what more could you ask for. We got it all on this trip (except snowfall). Dave and Seth knew the countryside well and ensured an enjoyable hike for us all. Would I do it again? Of course, in a heartbeat.
